Your sins are forgiven

Forgiven

Simon was one of the Pharisees. He invited Isa to dine with him. Isa went into the house of Simon and ate.

There was also a woman in the city who was a sinner.  When she learned that Isa was eating at Simon's house, she brought a bottle of perfume and went and standing behind Jesus began to cry, drenching his feet with her tears. Then she dried his feet with her hair and kissing his feet; she poured perfumed oil upon them. When Simon saw this he thought to himself, “If this person really is a prophet, he should know what kind of sinful woman is touching him!”

Isa looked at the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? When I came into this house you did not give me water to wash my feet, but this woman has washed my feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.  You didn't kiss me, but since she has entered, this woman has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has used perfume to anoint my feet. Therefore, I tell you that her many sins have been forgiven - as her great love has shown.  The one who is forgiven much loves very much, but the one who is forgiven little loves little.”

Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.”

The other people who were eating with them thought to themselves, “Who is this man who even forgives sins?”

But Jesus also said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

This woman was well aware that she was a sinner who should not be forgiven, but Isa forgave her because of her faith. Her faith was tangible. She was willing to use her tears to wash his feet, use her hair to wipe his feet and use expensive perfume to anoint his feet, because she knew Isa was the one who could forgive her sins.

Anyone who believes and trusts can also be forgiven of their sins, no matter what they have done.

Isa is Al-Masih who forgives sins.
